For at least the last 6 weeks my friend Sebastian and his friends and neighbors have been cleaning the streets of Pigtown every Saturday morning and reporting drug dealers when they see them. Three of those weeks I got a chance to help and I saw what a big difference we all made. This past week Sebastian took my advice and got the a city garbage truck to come by. They were able to pick up FIVE TONS of trash! They meet around 9AM on Saturday at the bathhouse at 904 Washington Blvd. You can email me at orioles76@yahoo.com for more information. I hope to see you there.

Any chance they'd like to do a cleanup at the corner of Scott and Washington Boulevard? I would be more than happy to provide coffee, as I would like to send my local drug dealers a message.

Carol, This Saturday we will focus on the area inside the triangle formed by Scott, Washington, and Cross. So that means we will be at your corner at some point. I'll have the bright orange shirt on.

Hey all, here is an announcement about the Saturday clean-up activities.
-----------------
To everyone: Volunteers removed over 15 tons of trash from the streets of Pigtown during the last two Saturday cleanups. The City donated the use of a trash truck the past two Saturdays and will do the same for the next two Saturdays. We need as many people as possible to volunteer this Saturday in order to load the trash truck to capacity before it leaves at 1pm. This gives us four hours to load more than seven tons of trash.
For those who may be unaware: Volunteers meet every Saturday at 8:45am in front of 904 Washington Blvd (the old bath house) to clean the streets Pigtown. We’ve held Pigtown community cleanups every Saturday since 10-21-06. The cleanups are sponsored by The Washington Village Developers Association in Co-operation with WPNPC.
Thank you, Dan Cosgrove, Chair Washington Village Developers Association

This email was sent to me:
To All: This Saturday's cleanup on 2-17-07 could become the most important cleanup to date! The Guardian Angles will make an appearance either during the cleanup or during the fund raiser to follow the cleanup or perhaps both events. If they witness a large turnout of groups and individuals commited to creating a better Pigtown, they may be inspired to become a permenant member of the community--strenghthening our efforts to create a grime free and crime free community. If you have not yet attended a cleanup, this is the one to attend. If you have attended in the past, please attend this comming Saturday and bring a family member, a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker.
For those who may not be aware: There will be a Pigtown Community Cleanup this coming Saturday, 2-17-07, between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Please meet us at 904 Washington Blvd at 8:45am sharp. If you come later, you can call 443-226-2065 to find where the volunteers are currently cleaning. After the cleanup, a fund raiser will be held between the hours of 2pm and 4pm at 701 Scott ST--Jack's Cafe. Proceeds from the fund raiser will go to The Baltimore Chapter of the Guardian Angels and to the general fund of The Citizens of Pigtown Community Association. Please contact Donald Phillips donmoldova@yahoo.com to purchase your ticke(s).
