Hey everyone - As the city festival season is now in full swing I thought I would pass this date along early so you can mark your calenders and tell friends......the well-hidden Pigtown Festival behind the B&O Museum on McHenry Street is slated for September 10th. The committee is working hard to making this a better and more successful festival each year. Details can be found at: www.pigtownfestival.com/

How did the Festival turn out? I was away, so I still have yet to see the running of the pigs and all that.
On another note, there was a uhaul moving stuff into a storefront on Wash Blvd Friday. There were a lot of paintings on the walls, anyone know what it's going to be? I think it was close to Nick's.

The festival went well. I was there pretty much all day. Nice mix of crowd and entertainment. Some of the vendors either under-estimated the attendance or the appetites of pigtowners and ran out of food early! Barre Circle also had a booth there, which I understood peaked some people's interest.

I heard a rumour that it may be moved to "our" end of the Boulevard this year...true?

Yes, the festival will be held on Washington Boulevard this year. It is time to inject some life back into that street! I believe the date this year is September 9th. There is going to be a pork cookouff; pigtown pageant, pooch pageant and alot more. www.pigtownfestival.com/

Just a reminder the Pigtown festival this year will be Saturday, September 9th on Washington Bouldevard, the 700-900 blocks from 11-4pm. Hopefully we can inject some life back into all of that dead space! Since this is our only neighborhood festival, lets hope people spread the word and there is a great turnout. If anyone is interesting in assisting with setup, takedown, or volunteering at the information booth, etc. please contact Michael Alto and alto618@aol.com.
