Yum! Neil and I ate at Patrick's (131 S. Schroeder St, Corner of Pratt and Schroeder, across from the B&O) the other night - so delicious!
Patrick's is a small place, the oldest Irish pub in America (the claim has been checked out), smokefree, and friendly. Before 6pm the menu has sandwiches which looked yummy, and after 6 they have a dinner menu with higher prices than I expected ($14.95 - $21.95 or so) but with quality to match.
On Fridays they have live music, they alternate between rock and Irish, every other week, from what Patrick the owner said. I don't know firsthand; we went on Tuesday.
It's also a family run place; the same family has been running it since 1857 or whenever it was that they opened.
Also, it won Best Crabcake from Baltimore Magazine (or was it the City Paper?) in 2003.
That's all I know!

I think it was City Paper's best crab cake. Yes. the food is good, but the walk there can be a little scary after dark. Although the area surrounding it has gotten better in recent years.
It is definitely worth checking out. The food is excellent. If you sign up for their newsletter online (www.patricksofpratt.com) you also get discounts and a ton of corny jokes.

We ate there a few weeks ago and loved it.
What nights do they have a "happy hour" for the neighborhood? Every other Saturday?

I eat there often and highly recommend them. It's a great restaurant and a neighbourhood institution.

rk, that happy hour is for Camden Crossing residents, from what I was told by Jim (I think) the developer/marketer guy working on the development. As opposed to the whole neighborhood, I mean.

Our neighbourhood used to have a happy hour at Patrick's when I first moved here. I don't know if they still do. Maybe ask Sue?
