I'm pretty new to the area, and have been traveling to my old hair stylist out of fear of the unknown. Can anyone recommend a good stylist in the city? I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hair, so I don't like to spend a lot of money, either. Nothing too fancy for me.
I'm also getting married in September and am looking for a stylist to do my "wedding hair." Again, nothing fancy. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

I go to Janet at Salon 921 in the Foundry building off Fort Avenue. She's a miracle worker.

Hooray for Studio 921!! I see Lindsey there, and she's awesome. She's actually the 3rd stylist I've seen there since I moved here, and they've all been awesome. Although, I will warn you, you're looking at prices in the $40-$50 range for a cut. Personally, I think that's a great price for a great cut, but I know some people don't like to pay that much.

Sorry, yes -- it's Studio 921 and not Salon. LOL.
By the way, the brow lady is awesome. I don't remember her name, but she's amazing.

I have heard great things about Studio 921. I go to Studio 1612 in Mt Washington, and I see Heather. She is great, and she did my hair for my wedding (she came to me at Admiral Fell Inn to do it). I wore my hair down and she did a great job of making it look "done" but not too "done," and working with my veil and all. Here are a couple of pics.

That's not a baby picture, so I'm not looking. LOL.
Sigh...every girl needs a tiara, don't you think?

Wow - your hair looks great. Very simple and classic. (No banana curls!) Mind letting me in on a ballpark figure of what onsite "wedding hair"cost? Did she do your makeup too? I was going to do my own, but my fiance's mom now wants someone to do hers. Sigh. This really isn't our wedding, is it?

Sigh...every girl needs a tiara, don't you think? ha ha, the funny thing is that I was anti-tiara and my hairstylist convinced me to wear my $8 headband thing in tiara-like fashion. I guess it served its purpose to hold up the veil, until we cut the veil off, that is. I'll post a baby pic for you elsewhere.

The figures $40 and $70 are in my head, but I can't remember which one is accurate. In any case, i thought it was worth it. She did do my makeup but to be completely honest with you I didn't love what she did. I wouldn't recommend her for makeup, but she is great with hair. You could always do a trial with her of the makeup if you end up choosing her for hair - if you happen to like what she does, it is really convenient to have the same person do both. And no, it really isn't your wedding, as you're learning. sigh. I'm sorry. I do hope you enjoy yourself!
